How to Prepare a Cheese Platter (Christmas Recipes)

Whether you serve it at Christmas or on New Year’s Eve or on any other occasion, a cheese platter is always a good idea.

It prepares extremely quickly and is to everyone’s taste.

In this video you will find all the information needed to prepare it.

From the amount of cheese needed to the types of cheese that can’t be missed.

I leave you here the filmed recipe, and below I give you all the details.

The quantity of cheese required is calculated according to the moment when the platter is served and the number of guests.

If this is the main course you need 120-150 g of cheese per person.

If you serve it for dessert you need 50-60 g / person.

The cheeses are divided into several categories, of which you must have at least 3 on the plate.

  • Matured cheese: Cheddar, Gouda.
  • Soft cheese: Brie, Camembert, Reblochon.
  • Farm cheese: Parmesan, Pecorino Romano, Ementaler
  • Blue cheese (with noble mold): Roquefort, Fourme d’Ambert, Bleu d’Auvergne, Gorgonzola
  • We also added cream cheese and goat cheese on our plate.

The cheese will be accompanied by “garnishes”:

  • dried fruits, nuts
  • fresh fruits (grapes, currants, raspberries, blueberries)
  • olives
  • breadsticks, saltines, bread
  • jam / honey

You need 2-3 types of wine to serve with this platter.

How do we place the cheeses?

  • If we have a round plate: Garnish in the middle and cheese around.
  • If the plate is rectangular or square, we put them in line, and we put the gaskets in between.
