Monaco, dream landscapes, elegance and luxury

A dream place, a fairytale, where you feel like the time stops for a second. This amazing location it is placed between the Maritime Alps and the Meditarranean sea. This week we get to the French Riviera, an area that was endowed by nature with brilliant sun and the bluest of water.
The Cote d’Azur is fabulous and Monaco is in the right place. Also, the weather is wonderful. Just amazing!

When you walk through there you can feel the sophisticated air of the place to imagine how is to have a yacht with the pool on it, only if you do not already have one, be surrounded by luxury, casino, expensive cars and elegance all the way.
Monaco has an area of 2.020 km2 (0.780 sq. mi), making it the second-smallest country in the world after the Vatican. Its population was about 38,400. Due to its size it is very easy to visit it by walk and never get tired.

Monaco’s most populous Quartier is Monte Carlo. Although it is small, Monaco is very old and well known especially because of its status as a playground for the rich and famous people. It was found that about 30% of the population is made up of Millionaires as in the cities Zurich or Geneva. Monaco has the lowest poverty rate in the world and the largest millionaires and billionaires per capita.
Perhaps that is why Monaco residents have the greatest life expectancy in the world, almost 90 years.
Also, it is the host of the Monaco Grand Prix one of the first major Formula One awards.
Here is what we did in one day in Monaco.

1. We walked through the streets and enjoyed the landscaped and architecture.
Monaco presents a wide array of architectures but the main characteristic of the principality, especially in Monte Carlo is the Belle Epoque. Decorative elements including turrets, balconies, multicolored ceramic mosaics and borrowed and blended caryatid to create a picturesque fantasy of pleasure and luxury, and a magnificent expression of the way Monaco sought and still seeking to appear. This capriccio of French, Italian and Spanish elements was incorporated into villas and apartments.

2.Monte Carlo Casino
Located in the heart of Monaco, called Monte Carlo, the Casino is on the southern end of the Place du Casino between the Hotel de Paris and the Cafe de Paris.
Was inaugurated in 1883 and rebuilt in 1878 by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera.
Featured in so many movies, the Casino de Monte Carlo, as it is officially called, is an entertainment complex. You do need to dress up, especially if you visit at night. The decor is quite grand on the inside and you will immediately think of James Bond. Quite cool, right? The citizens of Monte Carlo are forbidden to enter the gaming rooms of the casino. There is an entry fee, €10 per adult and you are not allowed to take pictures inside the casino.
The metal sculpture called “The Mirror of the Sky” in front of the casino gives you another perspective of the little Monte Carlo, by reflecting it in all his splendor.

3.Opera
Visiting this Opera is an unforgettable cultural experience that you will certainly want to repeat.
The most famous artists in the world have exhibited in the majestic Salle Garnier, from Enrico Caruso to Placido Domingo and, of course, Luciano Pavarotti.
Also, it’s impossible not to notice the luxury decorations and unique architecture that makes the entire location even more special and magical.

4. Port
The place that you admire from almost every corner of the quarter Monte Carlo. You look and dream of what it would be like.
The place where you have the chance to see relaxing on a luxurious yacht, in a swimsuit some of the richest people of the world.

5. The gardens and coffee shops around casino and unbeatable. First of all, the landscape is a dream, it is the ideal place where you can relax and admire elegantly dressed and sophisticated people and furthermore, the Mediterranean breeze adds extra glamour to the whole experiences. In addition to the palm trees are those who offer an exotic note of this amazing place.

6. A Luxury Shopping Session
Monaco is sure a great place for shopping (or window shopping if you prefer) and is full of prestigious boutiques and high-end stores. The Metropolis Shopping Center has a huge selection of jewelry and fashion stores but features health and beauty shops as well. Simply by taking a walk around Monaco, you will often come across luxury boutiques such as Cartier, Prada, Dior, Gucci or Chanel just to name a few.

This micro-state on the French Riviera is the definition of the luxury and elegance. A place you can visit to taste all of these fabulous landscapes.
Tips&Tricks: It is possible to get here by train from Nice (20 min, about 3.5 euros) but taking a bus no. 100 is much easier, despite the fact that the journey is 30 minutes longer. Mainly, the buses go from the center of Nice (Boulevard Jean Jaurès) every 15 minutes and it costs only 1 euro one way. The bus drops you off in Monte Carlo.
