STEPPING THROUGH MILAN

I love Italy and Milan is the perfect destination for a citybreak. If you want to go for a trip until Christmas or you are looking for Christmas presents this the right place where you can combine shooping and the pleasure to discover new places.

Milan is a place where I had the pleasure to go in many periods of the year and each time I was very surprised and impressed by the surroundings. If in my last article about Paris I wrote that you need more than a month to see and do everything you have to there, this time I have a good news, three days in Milan is enough to see the most important attractions.

I will write a lot about Italy because is one of my favorite destinations in Europe. I love their food, their ice cream, the breakfast full of nutella and sweet little things, I love the fact and anywhere you’ll go there is something fascinating to see. Italy is like and open space museum.

Returning to Milan:

  1. First on the list is Il Duomo. You can’t miss this cathedral. It left me breathless on the first look. This is a building with an impressive architecture both inside and outside. I recommend to climb on its rooftop because from there you can admire better the architecture and you cand have a look from the height of Piazza Del Duomo.

2.Around Il duomo there are a lot on strets where you can walk and find many churches to visit and of course, near the cathedral is Vittorio Emanuele al- II-lea Gallery. The shopping lovers  found the paradise because here are all the brands, big brands, small brands, you have everything you want. So if you are looking for Christmas presents this is the right place. Also here are a lot of restaurants and ice cream shops where you can rest for a bit, or just admire the environment. Because of its multiple function the Gallery is called the Chamber of life from Milan. Beside all this activities , in this Gallery you can also make a wish and it may come true. You have to find the bull which is in the center of the Gallery, is on the floor, is a mosaic bull.

Milan is a place that is always crowded no matter the period of the year. Is place where are always a lot of events and if you are lucky you can catch the fashion week in Milan and be part of fashion events if you are interested.

3.Until I write about another place that you must see in Milan, I mention about something that you must do in Milan. And that is eating ice cream. Italy is famous for its ice cream so you can’t miss it if you arrive there. I have a favorite place where I buy ice cream, is in front of the Dome, next to Mc Donalds. That place is so special for me because it has a flavor that I don’t know the name but is something like frozen nutella. You can’t find this flavor everywhere, and that’s why I always go there. So, those ones that love sweet things and the sweetest thing in the world is not sweet enough then that is the perfect flavor. Fells so good to savurate a good ice cream and admire Il Duomo. This picture is more than perfect and if you are lucky enough the frame is completed by a street artist that sings. I love streets artist, I really appreciate them because they give to the places that we visit more flavor. I always stop and listen to them and enjoy their music because I know how much hard work is beside this beautiful music.

4.After a good shopping on Milano’s streets , the next destination is este Castello Sforzesco. This is one of the oldest buidings from Miland and one of the biggest citadels from Europe. For those ones that love art this is the perfect place because is has a lot of exhibitions.

5.Near by the Castle is the Sempione Park. Is a very beautiful park where you can sit and admire the castle. If is summer they organize a special place to dance on oldshool music. From the parc you can see The Bow of Peace.

6. If you arrive in Milan you must go to Teatro Scalla. I love classical music because I was raised with it, so it was a big pleasure to go to the concert there.

7. Chiesa Santa Maria delle Grazie is a very important Church in Milan because there it is a very important piece of art ‘The Last Supper’ of Leonardo Da Vinci. If you want to go you have to make early reservations because because is always booked and they have a limited number of guests each day.

8. Another area that you must see is Navigli Is also called Little Venice because it has canals like Venice. There are restaurants and boutiques. Is a very good place if you want to eat or dance. Also you can enjoy a boat trip on this canals.

This are the places that I visited in Milan, of course that walking around you find a lot of beautiful places. I love to ride a bicycle and visit. You have another perspective on a bike and you see areas that maybe you don’t usually see. If you enjoy riding a bike go ahead, I recommend a day on a bike in Milan.

9. Of you go to Milan for more than a weekend I really recommend to you to go Como lake. Is a gorgeous area very close to Milan. Is one hour away by train. You arrive at Varenna and from there you can enjoy some fresh air, green, peace and silence.

About Italy I will write a lot because is a place where I’ll return again and again. I recommend it to anybody in the summer, winter, seaside, mountain, they have good food, sweets, Romeo and Juliet, Juventus, you find everything you wished for.
