5 Home Made Face Scrubs

Now is the time when we have time to take care of ourselves at home.  The simplest is to make it with natural ingredients that we find in any kitchen.

When I was a kid I always saw my mother putting on her face mask with what I had in the kitchen and I didn’t understand why she was doing it, so now I have come to understand her.  First of all, it is easier to use what you have at hand, secondly if you do it you know for sure what it contains (there are far too many chemicals on the market and you do not know what to trust anymore), in  thirdly it comes from natural ingredients and it doesn’t cost you anything (because you already had them in the house).  I say you only have to win.

I will tell you some scrub recipes for face and how to prepare our skin when we want to exfoliate.

First of all, the skin must be clean.  I mean, they don’t have to have make-up or cream on it.

Once we have done well, we can proceed to the next step.

The skin should be exposed to steam to open the pores, you can take a hot bath, apply a towel soaked in warm water on the face or you can steam on top of a bowl of hot chamomile tea.  If you opt for the latest version it is good to put on a towel for a stronger effect.  After 10 minutes of preparing our complexion, we are ready to scrub.

It is good to exfoliate your skin at least once a week, which has many benefits:

  • Deep cleaning
  • Provides a healthy appearance
  • Softens the skin
  • Provides brightness to the skin
  • Moisturizes and nourishes the skin
  • Revitalizes the skin
  • Improves circulation

Here are my 5 favorite scrub recipes that I use.

  1. Coffee and Honey

I love the smell of coffee.  I do not drink coffee, because I have not yet found a place in my daily rituals, but I love the smell, I am convinced that at some point in my life I will start drinking coffee.  So the coffee scrub is in the top of my list.

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoons (or cup of coffee)
  • 2 teaspoons of honey

Mix the ingredients and then gently apply on face and massage.  Wait for 10 minutes and then rinse with plenty of water.

  1. Coffee, Honey and Yoghurt.

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoons of coffee
  • 3 teaspoons of yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.  Apply them on your face and massage gently.  After 10 minutes you can remove the mask.

This exfoliant will not only make your face softer and will remove dead skin, but it will also moisturize and soothe the skin.

  1. Cornflour and Eggwhite

It is recommended if you have a tendency to get fat.  I only use it for certain areas of the face (nose and forehead), once or twice a month.

You will need:

  • One egg white
  • Cornflour

Mix the ingredients in a bowl and then gently apply in the areas they need.  The mallow absorbs the fat on the face, and the white nourishes the skin and gives it luminosity.

  1. Honey and cinnamon

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Mix the ingredients, massage and rinse after 10 minutes.

This is recommended if you want to remove the black dots.

  1. Brown sugar and coconut oil

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of coconut oil

Mix the ingredients in a bowl, then apply on the skin.  After 10 minutes rinse with plenty of water.

It is very important to apply a moisturizer after this process.
